Comparison of GEANT4 Simulation of Atmospheric Cosmic Rays with Measured Terrestrial Muon and Neutron Spectra

چکیده

A Monte Carlo simulation of primary protons and alpha particles interacting with the atmosphere has been performed using the GEANT4 code. Measured particle fluxes were used as input to the simulation. The simulated terrestrial cosmic ray flux was found to agree within a factor of two with the measured neutron flux over the energy range from 1 to 10,000 MeV and with the measured muon flux in the momentum range from 0.2 to 85 GeV/c.
